How to Get the Most From a 2-Hour Interior Design Consultation

You don't always need a full interior design service to make progress with your home, that's why I offer a standalone 2-hour interior design consultation, alongside my more comprehensive interior design service.

Perhaps you're struggling with a room layout, unsure which colours or fabrics to choose, or have a list of decisions you've been putting off. A focused design consultation can give you the clarity and confidence to move forward.

My 2-hour Design Consultation takes place in your home and is led by you. You choose what you'd most like support with, and we'll use our time together to work through your priorities, explore ideas and find practical solutions. I can bring a fresh perspective and help with those tricky decisions.

Before your consultation – how to prepare

I'd suggest having a think about the areas you'd most like help with and making a short list of questions or decisions you're struggling with. This will help us prioritise and make the most of our two hours.

You might want help with:

  • Furniture layouts and space planning

  • Choosing paint colours, fabrics or wallpaper

  • Lighting

  • Window treatment ideas

  • Making better use of an awkward or underused space

  • Choosing furniture styles or key pieces

  • Creating a more cohesive look throughout your home

If you already have paint colours, fabric samples, furniture ideas, Pinterest images or anything else you're considering, you're welcome to have them to hand.

Please don't feel that you need to tidy up before I arrive! I want to see how you actually live in and use the space. Understanding how you move through a room, what works well and what doesn't is an important part of giving useful, practical advice.

During your consultation – what to expect

The two-hour consultation is relaxed, collaborative and focused on the things that matter most to you.

We'll look at your space together, talk through your priorities and explore different options. Depending on what you'd like help with, this could include sketching furniture layouts, looking at colour combinations, discussing fabrics and finishes, considering lighting or finding ways to make better use of your space.

You can ask all those questions you've been going round in circles with and get an experienced, independent perspective. The session is led by you, so we can focus our time where you'll get the most value from it.

After your consultation – what happens next?

Following our two hours together, I'll spend time putting together summary consultation notes covering the key points we've discussed and my recommendations. You'll then have a clear, practical reference to help you put the ideas into action at your own pace.

You don't necessarily need a full interior design service to benefit from professional advice. Sometimes, two focused hours with an experienced interior designer are enough to give you the direction you need to move forward.

Available across West Kent and East Sussex, priced at £295.
